Current Snowmobiling Conditions in NH

I came across this great up-to-date listing of trail conditions throughout NH. Thought it might be a good post for those of you looking to find some trails. At this point, with about 3 feet of snow on the ground as I write this from southern NH, it seems pretty clear that snow is abundant, but it's nice to know the details regarding specific conditions in different areas. Thanks to The New Hampshire Division of State Parks and Recreation for such a thorough posting! Pittsburg Trails to the north are in great condition. Mid elevation trails north of the village are good to great. Trails south of Back Lake are very good to great. Primary trails 112 (Four Mile), 136, and 139 are closed for logging. Corridor 20 has a major reroute south of Lake Francis toward Diamond Pond; look for the signs. This Saturday, the 22nd, the Pittsburg High School Class of 2014 will be hosting a poker run from 8 am to 3 pm at the Pittsburg Ridge Runners club house, 17 Dickson Lane. Same date, same location, Steak Feed from 4:30 pm to 7 pm with the Snowmobile Raffle Drawing at 7. Diamond Pond/Coleman State Park 6” to 12” base, 1” new snow. Trails are groomed with great riding conditions. Watch for reroutes on Corridor 20. Please stay off plowed roads unless signed open. Colebrook 4” to 12” base, 2” to 3” new snow. Good to great conditions on groomed trails. Errol 6” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Please stay off plowed roads unless signed open. Primary 112 is CLOSED for the season. Please ride with caution. This Saturday, February 22nd, the third race of the Vintage Snowmobile Race Series will be taking place at the track next to the Buffalo farm. Milan 6” to 8” base, 2” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Cambridge 6” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Berlin 4” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Trails are groomed. Good riding conditions. East Side of Berlin/Success 6” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Gorham 4” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. The Pony Truss Bridge in Randolph is closed – watch for reroute signs! Groveton/Nash Stream 5” to 8” base, 2” new snow. Trails are groomed with good to great conditions. Groveton Village 4” to 6” base, 2” new snow. Good to great conditions on groomed trails. Stratford 8” to 12” base, 5” new snow. Great conditions on groomed trails. Logging on Corridor 3 north of the village. Dalton 5” to 6” base, 2” new snow. Great conditions on groomed trails. Jefferson 6” to 8” base, 1” to 4” new snow. Good to great conditions on groomed trails. Warming Hut will be open at the club house on Sat and Sun from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Lancaster 4” to 5” base, 1” new snow. Trails are groomed with good riding conditions. Whitefield 4” to 6” base, 1” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Bethlehem No report from local club at this time. Good riding conditions on groomed trails. Twin Mountain 4” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Franconia Notch Bike Path 2” to 8” base, 2” new snow. Good conditions on groomed trails. Campton/Thornton 6” to 12” base. Good to great riding on groomed trails. Central NH Andover 6” to 10” base, 1” new snow. Trails are groomed with excellent riding conditions. Ashland/Holderness/Lakes Region 10” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good to great riding conditions on groomed trails. Active logging between Owl Brook Hunter Education Center and Perch Pond Road – use caution, watch for trucks! Baker River Area/Rumney/Wentworth Grooming is ongoing daily and conditions are good to great, with the higher elevations being the best. Watch for new signage on Corridor 5 in Wentworth as there are 3 new crossings along the highway due to reroute of trail. The clubhouse will be open from 8 am – 3 pm on the weekends; stop in and enjoy a burger/dog or grilled cheese! Bear Notch/Bartlett 12+” base, 2” to 4” new snow. Good to great riding conditions. Watch for mushers and cross country skiers! Bradford 6” to 10” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Excellent riding conditions on groomed trails. Bridgewater 6” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Riding conditions are good to great on groomed trails. Castle in the Clouds 4” to 6” base, 1” to 2” new snow. All trails are now open and groomed with good riding conditions. Please keep to the right and slow down in corners - high traffic area with lots of switch backs and hills – use caution. Conway 8” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Very good to great riding on groomed trails. Bypass 19 is open. This Saturday, the 22nd, there is a club fundraiser Bonfire & Radar Run from 10 am to 3 pm at the Swamp Trail Field on East Conway Road. Come see how you’re your sled can go! Logging continues behind Town and Country on Corridor 19. Lake Sunapee Area 6” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Excellent riding conditions on groomed trails. Logging between Forest Street and Howlett Street in Bradford on Primary Trail 380. Trail 391 in Sunapee at the sewer treatment plant to Sleeper Road is now open, but please use caution as work is still underway. Madison Area 6” to 10" base, 1” to 2” new snow. Riding conditions are very good on groomed trails. Meredith 4” to 8” base. Good to great riding conditions on groomed trails. Moultonborough 4” to 8” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good to very good riding conditions. Still some thin areas so please use caution. Logging on Far Echo Trail by camp Tecumseh – use caution! Ossipee 8” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Conditions are good to great on groomed trails. Pillsbury State Park 6” to 10” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Riding conditions are excellent on groomed trails. Watch for logging activity on Goshen side of the park. Use caution, some icy corners! Sanbornton 4” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Great riding conditions. Grooming is occurring daily. Wakefield 8” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Riding conditions very good to great on groomed trails. Logging on North Province Lake Trail – use caution! Wolfeboro 4” to 12” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Riding is very good to great on groomed trails. Southern NH Bear Brook State Park 3” to 8” base. Good to excellent conditions on groomed trails. Snowmobile parking is in the lot on Deerfield Road on the right approx ¼ mile off of Route 28. NO parking in the cross country skiing lot off of Podunk Road! Please watch for mushers/skiers/horses – we share our trails! ATV Riders – please follow proper snowmobile etiquette when traveling behind groomers – no spin outs! Also allow the trail to set up after grooming before riding on it! Greenfield State Park Please note that the Greenfield State Park is CLOSED for the season due to logging. Parking for riding outside of the park is available at Oak Park across the street from the park, watch for signs. Hopkinton/Everett 6” to 10” base, 1” new snow. Riding conditions are excellent on groomed trails. Please stay on groomed trails. RIDING ON FROZEN BODIES OF WATER IS PROHIBITED AND CAN NET YOU A $ FINE! Pawtuckaway State Park 4” to 8” base. Good to excellent conditions on groomed trails. Corridor 17 connector needs more snow before grooming can resume. Round Pond and North Mountain trails – watch for logging! Please watch for mushers/skiers/horses – we share our trails! ATV Riders – please follow proper snowmobile etiquette when traveling behind groomers – no spin outs! Also allow the trail to set up after grooming before riding on it! Pembroke/Epsom/Chichester 1” to 2” new snow. Good to great conditions on groomed trails. Pisgah State Park 6” to 8” base, 1” new snow. Riding is excellent on main trails; secondary trails are not groomed at this time. Weare 6” to 10” base, 1” new snow. Excellent conditions on groomed trails. Rail Lines: Ashuelot: 4” to 6” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good to great conditions on groomed trails. Cheshire Line: 4” to 6” base, 1” new snow. Good to excellent conditions on groomed trails. Concord to Lincoln: 6” to 10” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good to excellent riding conditions on groomed trails. Straddle the rail when crossing trussels to prevent ski jams! NO RIDING south of Exit 18. Fort Hill Line: 4” to 6” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good to excellent conditions on groomed trails. Watch for ice fishing traffic. Hillsborough: 6” to 10” base. Excellent riding conditions on groomed trails. Northern: 6” to 10” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Groomed trails. Riding is excellent. Watch for mushers and cross country skiers! Sugar River: 6” to 8” base, 1” to 2” new snow. Good to excellent riding conditions.
